These terms explain how OpenTrip works, what you are responsible for, and how AI travel research, shared trips, credits, and third-party booking links should be used.

Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using OpenTrip, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use OpenTrip for a group, business, family, or another person, you are responsible for making sure you have permission to do so and that your use follows these terms.
If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use OpenTrip. We may update these terms as the product changes, and the updated version will be posted on this page.
What OpenTrip provides
OpenTrip helps people plan and organize trips in one shared place. The service may include AI-assisted itinerary planning, saved trip plans, hotel and flight research, places to visit, food ideas, videos, maps, notes, uploaded travel documents, and sharing features for travel companions.
OpenTrip may also surface links, search results, or booking paths from third-party providers. Those links are provided to help you compare and continue research, but they do not make OpenTrip the operator of those services.
OpenTrip is not a travel agency
OpenTrip is a planning and organization tool. OpenTrip does not operate hotels, airlines, activities, transport services, immigration offices, attractions, restaurants, booking marketplaces, or insurance providers.
A trip plan in OpenTrip is not a confirmed booking, ticket, visa, permit, reservation, or guarantee that a place or service will be available. You are responsible for making and confirming your own travel arrangements.
Third-party bookings and links
When OpenTrip links to a third-party travel, booking, activity, hotel, flight, map, video, or affiliate provider, that provider controls the offer, price, availability, cancellation policy, refund process, booking terms, customer service, and fulfillment.
You should review the third-party provider's terms before booking or paying. OpenTrip is not responsible for changes, cancellations, refunds, fees, delays, provider errors, or disputes connected to a third-party booking or website.
AI and travel accuracy
OpenTrip uses AI-assisted features to help draft itineraries, revise plans, organize research, and suggest travel ideas. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
Before relying on any trip plan, you should independently verify flights, hotels, prices, opening hours, transport times, meeting points, accessibility, visa and passport requirements, health and safety rules, local laws, weather, and other important travel details.
Accounts, Trip Team, and share links
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in access secure. If you invite travel companions, grant roles, or create share links, you are responsible for choosing the right access level and for removing access when it is no longer needed.
People with access to a trip may be able to see trip details, notes, uploaded documents, research, comments, and other shared content depending on the permissions you choose.
Your content and uploads
You keep ownership of the trip plans, notes, documents, links, images, comments, preferences, and other materials you add to OpenTrip. You give OpenTrip permission to host, process, display, and transmit that content as needed to provide the service.
You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload or share any documents, notes, links, transcripts, images, or other materials you add to a trip. Do not upload content that is illegal, harmful, infringing, private without permission, or unsafe to share with your travel companions.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse OpenTrip. This includes:
- using the service for illegal, abusive, deceptive, or harmful activity;
- uploading infringing, malicious, or unsafe content;
- attempting to bypass security, permissions, credit limits, or access controls;
- scraping, rate-limiting abuse, automated harvesting, or interfering with the service;
- using OpenTrip to harass, impersonate, or expose another person's private information.
Paid plans, credits, and add-ons
Some OpenTrip features may require a paid plan, credits, extra travel companions, or additional credit packs. Current plan details, included credits, add-ons, and feature availability are described on the pricing page.
Prices, plan names, feature limits, and credit rules may change. If a change affects an active subscription, OpenTrip will handle the change according to the applicable billing flow and legal requirements.
Cancellations and refunds
Subscription management, cancellation, and payment handling may be processed by OpenTrip's payment provider. Unless a separate written policy or mandatory law says otherwise, fees already paid may be non-refundable once access, credits, or add-ons have been provided.
If you believe there has been a billing error, contact us through the contact page so we can review the issue.
Intellectual property
OpenTrip, including its product design, software, branding, page layout, and service experience, is owned by OpenTrip or its licensors. These terms do not give you ownership of OpenTrip's intellectual property.
You may use OpenTrip for its intended travel planning purpose, but you may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or create a competing service from OpenTrip except where allowed by law.
Service availability and changes
OpenTrip may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service as the product evolves. We try to keep the service useful and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that every feature will remain available forever.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, OpenTrip is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, travel disruption, missed bookings, provider failures, or reliance on inaccurate travel information.
Some laws do not allow certain limits on liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Termination
You may stop using OpenTrip at any time. OpenTrip may suspend or terminate access if we believe an account has violated these terms, created security risk, misused the service, or caused harm to other users, providers, or OpenTrip.
Governing law
The governing law and venue for disputes are pending legal review and will be added or updated when confirmed. Nothing on this page limits consumer rights or other rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
